So I made a test for the whole puppet pipe line and this is how it went this week.
1..Sculpt
2..Cast
3..Paint in latex
4..Armature wire body
5..Foam it up
6..Paint
7..Sleep
Here is how it looks with the test.
Some of the steps worked out nicely. And for the most part I would say I doubled what I know about puppet making with foam and latex. To be done with a hero puppet for the next week it is going to take all I got.
Representing Offering Accepting Defining or ROAD is the blog that will service as a production work book for my thesis film. I also hope it will be a place where people can contribute their ideas and thoughts. So please be the next person to leave a comment I would love your feed back.

Looking great Matt! You should definitely include this Gumby character as one of your Easter Eggs in the film.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see you finish the other puppets. Since you already know the building process, you've got a great start in creating your primary characters. What are you going to do in terms of clothing?
Also, what have you planned in terms of set construction?
This char. is a lot of fun! Even if it doesn't make the cut ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat work Matt! Can't wait to see more of these puppets... I know how awesome they're going to look
